Scheduling Research

I started my research today by looking at the scheduling of ITV and Channel 5, picking 5 factual and 5 fictional shows from the TV listing this week. I then researched the time it's shown on TV, a synopsis, the genre and target audience. I compiled these into a table:

I found this very helpful to find out what sort of programmes are shown on our set channels for the brief we were given, and it's given me more of an idea of what I'll focus on for my own programme.

I think I would like to focus on a crime drama or thriller, so my next task will be to look at other shows from those genres which are shown on ITV/Channel 5 - not just from this week's schedule. I will look at the most popular shows/films that are broadcasted and research them in more detail.
